Olive Cuisine de Saison

French-Mediterranean cuisine in the city centre: entirely homemade menu, seasonal local produce, and a charming 1930s colonial setting.

Olive, Cuisine de Saison is a high-end French-Mediterranean restaurant located in the vibrant heart of Krong Siem Reap. Co-founded in 2014 by Olivier and Sophal, this beloved spot bridges the gap between classic European gastronomy and fresh seasonal local ingredients.

Concept & menu. Led by a chef trained in Lyon, the menu is entirely homemade, featuring flavours from the South of France and the Mediterranean. Must-tries include slow-cooked lamb shanks, crispy Brie salad, snow fish or baked cod, beef Wellington, and pan-seared foie gras. A popular lunch set offers a three-course menu for around $16–18, changing weekly. The extensive wine cellar features French and international selections, available by the glass, with organic and vegetarian options (like Provençal Niçoise salad).

Historic setting. Housed in a restored French colonial house dating back to the 1930s, the interior is stylish and romantic, with exposed brick, wooden beams, soft lighting, and fresh flowers. Plush banquettes, white tablecloths, and air conditioning create a refreshing retreat from the city's humidity.

Practical information. Located on Olive Street, opposite the entrance to wat Preah Prom Rath, just steps from the Old Market. Open daily from 11:30am to 9:30pm. Features a terrace, bar, free Wi-Fi, and street parking. Reservations are highly recommended for dinner (Thursday to Saturday): official website, Facebook, or +855 61 678 994.

Olive captures the essence of France in Siem Reap with its soft lighting and brick decor, an irresistible lunch set, and a menu that pays homage to the South — don’t miss the vanilla from Banteay Srey for dessert.
