Bayon Pastry School
A community pastry school and café in a tranquil garden, offering free training for young women and affordable brunch just steps from downtown Siem Reap.
Bayon Pastry School is a vocational training school run by the NGO Bayon Education & Development in Siem Reap. Since 2014, it has provided free pastry and bakery training to young Cambodian women from disadvantaged backgrounds, achieving a remarkable 100% job placement rate for graduates.
The Coffee Shop. The school features a public café, the Bayon Coffee Shop, set in a peaceful garden near the city centre (Taphul Road). This is where students apply their skills in practice: around 50% of the training funding comes from the café's revenue. Open daily from 7am to 5pm.
Menu & Offers. Enjoy French-style pastries and brunch at accessible prices. Breakfast for $5 (includes a drink, pastry, and fruit salad) · Full brunch for $9. Specialties include croissants (butter, almond, chocolate), quiches, avocado toast, and the Bayon Cake (banana and ginger). Solidarity shop: Kampot pepper, aprons, kramas.
Training Programme. A 12-month course including 4 months of internships in luxury hotels in Siem Reap. Theoretical and practical classes, English, and soft skills are included. Every visit to the coffee shop directly supports this mission.
