From Thailand
Poipet / Aranyaprathet — The busiest crossing, on the Bangkok–Siem Reap route. By bus, allow 7–8 hours from Bangkok (Mo Chit station). Direct buses run by established companies (Giant Ibis, Nakhonchai Air) cover this route. Opening hours: 7am–10pm. Watch out: “agents” offering to help you get a visa at Poipet are almost always scams. Deal only at the official counters.
Hat Lek / Cham Yeam — Coastal crossing between Koh Chang (Thailand) and Koh Kong (Cambodia). Less busy, useful for reaching the Cambodian coast directly. Opening hours: 7am–8pm. Important: the official Cambodia e-Visa site currently lists Poipet and Cham Yeam (Koh Kong) as temporarily closed to entry with an e-Visa, until further notice. That does not necessarily mean the crossing itself is closed (evisa.gov.kh).
From Vietnam
Moc Bai / Bavet — The busiest crossing on the Ho Chi Minh City–Phnom Penh route. Direct buses are available, about 6 hours. Open 7am–11pm. This is the natural gateway for a Cambodia–Vietnam trip, in either direction.
Tinh Bien / Phnom Den — A Mekong Delta crossing, practical for reaching Kampot or Kep directly from southern Vietnam.
Visas and formalities
The tourist e-Visa (Visa T) is issued on evisa.gov.kh: 30 USD, single entry, 1-month stay, valid for 3 months from the date of issue, about 3 business days. Some nationalities are exempt. Important: the official Cambodia e-Visa site currently lists Poipet and Cham Yeam (Koh Kong) as temporarily closed to entry with an e-Visa, until further notice. That does not necessarily mean the crossing itself is closed. Other e-Visa entry points remain listed, including Bavet (Svay Rieng) and Tropaeng Kreal (Stung Treng), as well as Techo International Airport (KTI), Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI), and Sihanoukville International Airport (KOS). Check the official list before you travel. Tourist visa on arrival: check the official fee in force before you leave. A passport photo is required for a visa on arrival. French nationals do not need a visa for Thailand (30 days) or Vietnam (45 days).
