Artisans Angkor — Chantiers-Écoles

The heart of Artisans Angkor in Siem Reap features open-air workshops, free guided tours, and a flagship store just steps from the Old Market.

Founded in 1992, Artisans Angkor is a Cambodian social enterprise dedicated to revitalising Khmer craftsmanship and training young people from rural areas. Following a post-pandemic restructuring, the historic site of the Chantiers-Écoles in Siem Reap has transformed into a living museum ecosystem, with the expansion of the Living Art Village.

On-site Experiences

Living Art Village (main workshop): an open-air campus in the heart of Siem Reap where master artisans can be seen practicing stone carving, woodwork, lacquer, and silver plating. Daily free guided tours pass through specialised pavilions.

Flagship store: certified handmade products — silk, jewellery, lacquer, sculptures — with sales funding training in rural areas.

Angkor Silk Farm (Puok district): complete cycle of Khmer silk (silkworms, mulberry trees, ikat weaving). Free shuttle from the main site.

Immersive Angkor (coming soon): a 360° multimedia attraction within the Living Art Village recreating the splendour of the Angkor temples.

Capital store: Artisans Angkor — Phnom Penh. Hours: daily 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM. Entry and standard guided tours are free.
