Les meilleurs Restaurants du Cambodge

Armand's — The Bistro

A highly rated, intimate French bistro famous for cognac-flambéed steaks and the warm table-side showmanship of chef-host Armand Gerbie, a short walk from the riverside.

Armand's — The Bistro is one of Phnom Penh's most celebrated French restaurants, renowned for serving some of the best steaks in Cambodia. Run by the charismatic Franco-Khmer chef and host Armand Gerbie, the venue blends a traditional Parisian bistro atmosphere with personalised table-side culinary showmanship.

The culinary experience

Signature steaks : the restaurant is famous for premium imported beef. Many cuts — Tournedos Rossini, Kampot Pepper Steak — are flambéed with cognac at your table by Armand himself.

Classic French menu : an authentic, intentionally concise menu on wall chalkboards. Regular items include French onion soup, foie gras, duck breast and baked Alaska.

Wine & spirits : a thoughtful wine list with excellent-value house reds, plus fine cognacs and armagnacs after dinner.

Atmosphere & vibe

Very small dining room (around 12 table seats and 4 at the bar), white tablecloths, dark wood accents and background jazz. Armand moves between tables with recommendations and banter in English, French and Khmer.

Reservations strongly recommended due to limited seating. Cash only — bring physical currency; credit cards are generally not accepted.

In this tiny room of white tablecloths, the cognac flambé at your table and Armand's voice recommending the house red — you forget you're in Phnom Penh. It's a real Parisian bistro: warm, unpretentious and unforgettable.
