Amarak Farm in Koh Krobey, south of Phnom Penh: tiny houses, a pool, seasonal cooking and a farm worked since 2008.
Amarak Farm is in Koh Krobey village, Sangkat Prekthey, Khan Chbar Ampov, on the southern edge of Phnom Penh. Two hectares on the left bank of the Bassac, farmed since 2008: lettuces, herbs, tomatoes, beans and fruit. Come for the day, or stay in the tiny houses.
Where to sleep
The tiny houses ring an outdoor pool, in the middle of the banana grove. The property also has Villa Amarak, garden rooms and a hall for groups. Book on 097 979 7767 or 096 669 7767.
On site
The bistro and the outdoor restaurant cook with the season and with what the farm picks. There is coffee, a barbecue setup and a playground. Open daily from 7 am to 9 pm.
The farm
Koh Krobey grows longan and jasmine. You can cycle, use the football pitch, pick jasmine and seasonal fruit, bananas and passion fruit, or walk the lettuce beds.
The tiny houses sit in the banana grove, with the pool in the middle. Lunch comes from the morning's pick, and Phnom Penh stays on the far side of the fields.
