Islands & beaches in Cambodia

Little-known turquoise waters, beaches that feel almost empty outside high season, and bioluminescent plankton lighting the bay at night. A coastline still largely untouched — if you know where to go.

Which island to choose?

Each island has its own character. Here is a quick guide to match your travel style.

🏝️

Koh Rong Sanloem

The balanced pick — a few restaurants, decent stays, coral you can reach by swimming from the beach. Saracen Bay is sheltered and calm. Ideal for 2–3 nights.

🌊

Koh Rong

Larger and busier. Long Beach is stunning (7 km of white sand), but Koh Tuch Village can get lively at night. Better for party-goers.

🌿

Koh Ta Kiev

Dense jungle, isolated beaches, a few off-grid eco-lodges. No 24/7 power. For travellers who really want to disconnect. Boat access from Sihanoukville.

🐰

Koh Tonsay (Rabbit Island)

Small island from Kep, 20–30 min by boat — not Koh Rong or Sanloem, but bamboo bungalows, grilled crab and a fisherman's calm. Ideal after the crab market.
