Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor

Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor is a 5-star palace opened in Siem Reap in the early 1930s, facing the Royal Gardens. It stands in the old French quarter, along Charles de Gaulle Avenue.

State and Landmark rooms, Colonial suites, Cabana suites with direct pool access, Henri Mouhot suites, John Thomson suites, and private villas.

A standard or deluxe room is about 215 to 450 USD a night, depending on the season and the category.

A 35-metre outdoor pool, shaped after the royal basins of Angkor. Raffles Spa, a fitness room, yoga and tai-chi classes, tennis courts. Air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a Raffles butler around the clock, free parking and rooms accessible for guests with reduced mobility.

The original wooden lift, the oldest still working in Indochina, is still in use.

Where to eat

1932 is the Khmer gastronomic restaurant. Café d'Angkor is the international brasserie, for breakfast and meals. The Elephant Bar serves the cocktails and spirits. The Conservatory is the tea room, overlooking the gardens.

The setting

Marble floors, lion-paw bathtubs, 1930s furniture. More than 6 hectares of formal gardens and century-old trees separate the hotel from the street. It faces the Royal Residence and the Royal Gardens, away from the tourist centre. The main gate of Angkor Wat is under a 10-minute drive.
