La Croisette

A legacy riverside bistro since 1997 on Preah Sisowath Quay — among the first international restaurants on the waterfront, with Mediterranean flavours, Khmer fusion, and views of the Tonle Sap and Mekong.

La Croisette Bistro & Restaurant is a Phnom Penh institution, widely celebrated as one of the very first international restaurants on the city's waterfront. Founded in 1997 after years of political transition, this European-managed venue sits directly on the scenic Preah Sisowath Quay promenade.

The menu. Cosmopolitan Mediterranean specialties, classic European comfort food, and upscale Khmer dishes. Legendary breakfasts (Eggs Benedict, smoked-salmon scramble, avocado toast), homemade tortellini, ossobuco with Kampot pepper, sea bass in vermouth, Jägerschnitzel, stone-fired pizzas, Lok Lak, Fish Amok, and grilled shrimp papaya salad. A counter stocks 32 flavours of house ice cream made from real fruit. Craft beers on tap (including Bash Brewing) and cocktails.

Atmosphere. Ground-floor riverside terrace, air-conditioned indoor lounge, and « The Garden » on the first floor — a lush upper terrace with panoramic water views. Plastic-free across all customer operations.

Practical. #241 Preah Sisowath Quay (corner Street 144), Daun Penh. Open daily 8:00 AM–midnight. Cash, cards, and mobile QR. Weekends 6:00–11:00 PM: the quay becomes a pedestrian Walking Street — drop off a block away by tuk-tuk. lacroisettekh.com

We had breakfast on the terrace, then climbed to The Garden for sunset over the rivers — ice cream for dessert and a Bash Brewing on tap. A Phnom Penh classic.
