Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh is at 55 Street 178, Sangkat Chey Chumnas, Khan Daun Penh. The hotel presents itself as a five-star property. The lobby is the Royal Villa, a 1900 house that was a princely residence, then the UNTAC headquarters from 1991 to 1994.

247 rooms, including 43 suites. The decor mixes the contemporary with Khmer motifs. Some rooms look onto the Royal Palace. All are non-smoking. The Palace, the National Museum and the riverfront are a five- to ten-minute walk.

Market Café serves a buffet breakfast, pastries, afternoon tea and an à la carte menu. FiveFive Rooftop Bar & Lounge sits above the roofs, with a view of the Palace and the Mekong. Metropole Underground is a metro-themed bar, with local beers and music in the evening. On the 3rd floor, a bar by the pool.

Spa and hours

Jivapita, on level 3, is open daily from 11:30 am to 9:30 pm: treatments, a Himalayan salt room, a steam room. The gym, on the same floor, is open from 5:30 am to 9:30 pm. Nine meeting rooms. Check-in from 2 pm, check-out by noon. A passport and visa are required on arrival. Pets are accepted with notice. They are not allowed in the restaurants, except at Market Café. Valet parking, and self-parking. The hotel says about 30 minutes by road from the airport.
