Between 1975 and 1979, thousands of people were detained at S-21 before being transferred to Choeung Ek and other execution sites. The museum preserves the buildings, cells, prisoner identification photographs, and exceptional testimonies — the audio guide (available in English and French) is highly recommended.
Practical: expect to pay 5 USD without an audio guide, 8 USD with one (3 USD for the audio guide). Open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM. Cash payment at the entrance. Plan for 2 to 3 hours on-site.
