Description
This former Khmer Rouge prison camp, previously known as S-21, was the location for detention and torture of prisoners on a mass scale under Pol Pot's security force. 17,000 Cambodians and nine westerners lost their lives between 1975 and 1978 in Cambodia's biggest detention centre that was once a high school. A sobering visit, the building houses exhibits, paintings and photographs of many of the victims indicating its harrowing past.
