Sombok Restaurant

Experience fine Khmer dining on Sisowath Quay, with exquisite interpretations of Cambodian cuisine by chef Kimsan Pol and her all-female team.

Sombok Restaurant is a highly sought-after fine dining destination in Phnom Penh. Led by chef Kimsan Pol (co-creator of Embassy in Siem Reap), the restaurant celebrates authentic Khmer gastronomy with sophisticated dishes, all crafted by a 100% female culinary and service team.

The "nest" concept. Sombok means nest in Khmer: warmth, care, and nourishment. The interior, designed by architect Kimseng Ouk, features golden silk, local artworks, and large windows overlooking the Sisowath promenade — a cool haven facing the Mekong.

Menu. Fresh provincial products and exceptional ingredients (Petrossian caviar, fine wines). Signature dishes include fish amok, grilled salmon in banana leaf, scallops & foie gras, and grilled beef with prahok sauce and red ants. Tasting menus are renewed monthly, with an extensive vegetarian and vegan selection.

The fish amok arrives like a work of art beneath the golden silk sculpture on the ceiling — pure Khmer flavours, impeccable service, and the river flowing by the windows.
