Description
The grandeur of the Silver Pagoda made of marble and lined with 5,000 silver floor tiles was built in 1962 to replace the wooden pagoda on the same site. The Silver Pagoda is also known as the ‘Temple of the Emerald Buddha’ due to its emerald Buddha said to be made of baccarat crystal and it is also famous for its 90-kg solid gold Buddha. Sitting within the Royal Palace complex, this is one of Cambodia's rare places of opulence illustrating Khmer culture.
