Description
Despite still being the official home for the King of Cambodia, the tranquillity of the Royal Palace is still very much open for visitors today. In 1866 the French built this iconic landmark enclosed by large yellow walls with several entrances reserved for different occasions, such as the northern gate also known as the funeral gate. This sprawling royal complex site consists of perfectly manicured gardens and gold-roofed buildings such as the Throne Hall, Banqueting Hall and the Dancing Pavilion which is still used by the royal family to hold banquets.
